Giant procession Akkermans guild

The Akkermansgilde of Venlo celebrated their 425th anniversary with a real event! The highlight was the spectacular, colourful parade through Venlo’s historic city centre on Sunday 12 May between 13:30 and 16:00. Over 60 guilds, archers, music societies, giant groups and special groups from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany could be admired in all their splendour.

Leyn Weckx was also invited! Since our Zootje Ongeregeld could not come along, the ladies of the giant had baked “finger biscuits” to hand out.
